Professional Cricketer Supporting Athletes Across: Somerset, Bristol, Cardiff , UK
HI I’M SEAN, sport & performance PSYCHOLOGist MENTAL STRENGTH AND PEAK PERFORMANCE
I'm preparing to help athletes, team leaders, and organisations build mental resilience—a path that began when I faced my own challenges and sought guidance to reach my potential...
Having spent many years as a professional cricketer, I understand the mental challenges that come with performing under pressure. Alongside my sporting career, I completed a Masters in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Staffordshire University and now work as a Sport Psychologist, providing sport psychology services to athletes, teams, and organisations.
My approach combines lived experience from elite sport with evidence-based psychological techniques to help individuals manage pressure, build confidence, overcome self-doubt, and perform at their best.
Sport Psychology Coaching & Services
I provide sport psychology coaching and sport psychology services designed to help athletes and teams develop strong, repeatable mental performance systems.
Modern sport psychology is not just about motivation — it is about building structured psychological skills that improve performance under pressure.
My work focuses on:
Developing pre-performance routines
Improving attentional control and focus
Building confidence through structured mental training
Managing anxiety and emotional responses in competition
Strengthening decision-making under pressure
Developing resilience after setbacks or injury
Creating consistent performance habits
Each programme is fully tailored and adapted to the demands of your sport, competition level, and personal challenges.
Performing in high-pressure environments, whether in sport or business, can bring challenges such as self-doubt, fear of failure, anxiety, and pressure to perform. When these challenges are not managed effectively, they can impact confidence, decision-making, and overall performance.
My role is to help individuals and teams develop the mental skills needed to manage pressure, build confidence, and perform consistently when it matters most.
Understanding Sports Performance Psychology
Sports Performance Psychology focuses on how thoughts, emotions, and behaviours impact athletic performance. It examines how athletes respond under pressure, how confidence is built and maintained, and how mental habits influence consistency over time.
In elite sport, physical ability between competitors is often similar. What separates performance is psychological strength — the ability to stay composed, focused, and confident when it matters most.
Through applied sport psychology coaching, athletes learn how to:
Control internal pressure and expectations
Maintain focus during high-stakes moments
Recover mentally after mistakes
Stay confident in changing match situations
Perform consistently across a season
This is where structured mental training becomes a performance advantage.
Sports Psychology for Schools
I also deliver sports psychology for schools, helping young athletes and students develop strong mental foundations early in their development.
This is increasingly important as pressure in youth sport continues to grow.
Support includes:
Building confidence in competitive environments
Managing pressure in sport and exams
Developing focus and concentration skills
Building resilience after setbacks
Encouraging positive mindset habits
The aim is to create long-term psychological skills that support both sport and personal growth.
